摘要
晚清至民国，西方宣教差会进入位于西北边陲的甘肃省传教。在甘传教士在传教、游历的同时，对甘肃作了细致的观察和叙述，形成了丰富的文字著述。以在甘传教或旅行的传教士对甘肃的著述为史料基础，将传教士对甘肃整体形象、民族宗教以及对省会兰州、河西走廊地区张掖武威嘉峪关的描述抽离出来，大致勾勒出来甘传教士著述中的甘肃形象。从词汇的使用及其评价可以看出，在甘传教士对甘肃的评价基本上是正面的，在该群体描述中，甘肃地理位置重要，物产丰富，对当今甘肃文化符号的提取及其文旅产业发展具有借鉴意义。
